This has enabled us to better support staff in the workplace and has reduced absenteeism and lost time. There has been an increase in staff attendance and the number of absences in the instance of injury has been minimised due to staff having greater awareness of their own OH&S within the workplace.
Their workshops have provided management with greater awareness by being able to recognise if staff come to work with an injury, how to then ask the right questions so they do not further aggravate the issue.
Working with them has been extremely beneficial and enabled us to reduce our premiums by 60%.
Gallagher Workplace Risk Practice, since commencing at Thorn, have provided professional support and advice, not only for my role as WHS Committee Chairperson but to all our WHS Team, providing us with improved tools to deal with and manage any safety issue that arises.
In addition to this they have delivered to the Property and Facilities team a streamlined reporting process “Smartsheet” to capture, action and track all property related matters Australia Wide.

Over the last 5 years I have worked closely with the consultants across 2 major health and aged care providers.
Through their specialist work cover and early intervention strategies, they have assisted these organisations and myself to lead major improvements in workforce capacity, occupational health and safety and operational performance whilst generating significant savings in annual work-cover premiums.
